The influence of my favorite television series Mad Men promoted the prototype of nowadays clubmaster browline. Fancy guy and idol of many Don Draper was proudly walking along the Madison Avenue in navy blue suite and dark brown browline made the frame even more popular.
Later on, eyewear giant Ray Ban, which already dominated the sunglasses market with their Wayfarers and Aviator sunglasses, introduced the Clubmaster, a traditional browline frame with sunglass lenses, and the Clubmaster Max, a Wayfarer shaped-and-sized browline.
The Clubmaster went on to become the third best selling sunglasses style of the 1980s leaving behind the Wayfarer and aviator.
When first time I put on the bamboo temples clubmaster combined it with pair of worn jeans and a white shirt I felt that the timeless classic became even more attractive.
